Recent Activity

l was asked by Senator Bill Hagerty to come to The Capitol in Washington, D.C. to meet with him and his staff.  As the Mayor of a fast growing town in West Tennessee, he was looking to me for my insight to how he can help our community.

I spent the day with Senator Hagerty and we discussed many ideas for our area.  We had lunch in the Senate Dining Hall, which a very prestigious honor.  I was given a VIP tour of the Senate and thoroughly enjoyed learning some of the history of the building and the Senate itself.

The time with Senator Hagerty's staff was invaluable and many topics were discussed.  His knowledge of our area and his commitment to seeing improvement in Fayette, Tipton and Shelby Counties was evident.  There were only six people invited and I was the only elected official.  The others were economic developers, commercial developers, a healthcare advisor, and a large business owner.  It was certainly good to make contacts with these individuals and begin a relationship to encourage their support to bring value to Oakland and Fayette County.
